Arrivals, Departures and Transportation

Participants may arrive up to 48 hours before the event begins (from August 22) and stay up to 36 hours after the closing ceremony (until 29 August). Please note that the programme allows arrivals on August 24 (before 10:00 AM) and departures on August 28 (from 2:00 PM onwards). 

The official entry points are:

  • Åre Östersund Airport
  • Östersund Central Station (railway station)

To travel to Östersund, Sweden, participants can arrive via Stockholm (Sweden) or Trondheim (Norway) and continue to the official entry points by domestic flight or train.

Travelling via Stockholm (Arlanda Airport)

Arlanda Airport in Stockholm offers connecting domestic flights to Åre Östersund Airport. If needed, there are several accommodation options available at or near Arlanda for overnight stays. Please note that, according to the official programme, arrival in Östersund on Monday morning is possible.

Travelling by Train

Participants travelling by train from Arlanda Airport (Stockholm) or from Værnes Airport (Trondheim, Norway) can search for suitable connections here: SJ Search Journey

When searching for train connections:

  • From Stockholm: enter “Arlanda Flygplats” as departure station and “Östersund Central” as destination.
  • From Trondheim: enter “Hell” as departure station and “Östersund Central” as destination.

From Værnes Airport, buses depart every 30 minutes to Hell railway station, and the journey takes less than 10 minutes.

Transportation from the official entry points to accommodation sites will be arranged by the Organising Committee. Volunteers will be available at the airport to assist participants upon arrival.

Transportation between accommodation sites and Forum venues will also be organised by the Organising Committee.
